Skibum.com was founded by three like minded individuals who share a passion for the outdoors – Jeff, Mike and David. Here is the story:

In 1995 as we graduated college, we had one dream and it wasn’t to assimilate into corporate America for the remainder of our lives. It was a simple dream - we wanted to become ski bums. Of course you can imagine what our parents thought after 4 years of higher education. My kid wants to go ski the rest of his days. So it was. We packed up our cars and drove to Breckenridge, CO. No job, no direction, nothing more than an itch to live to ski. Luckily we were smart enough to be on the forefront of the web at the same time. It was the wild west of the internet frontier. By 1997 we were skiing daily and developing websites. As the web progress we developed ideas - what if we could do what we wanted to everyday and still have a "job"? This was the beginning days of skibum.com.

When we originally developed skibum.com we were looking to create a community for like minded individuals like ourselves to come and share their experiences out on the mountains. Over time, with feedback from our family, friends and constituents skibum.com evolved into something more. People wanted to know where the deals were to be had. So we sought them out - discounted lift tickets, top of the line gear at reduced prices and lastly a place to sell our used gear, look for roommate, hitch a ride or even find a job at the mountain.

Of course at the same time you were here checking out skibum.com we wanted to make sure you can got mountain conditions and weather, resort information and keep you up to date on what’s going on in the in the skiing community.
