Killington Vermont

Killington is the biggest resort on the east coast. Spread out over 6 mountains of varied sizes, Killington Peak is the second highest in VT at 4200’ above sea level. Killington’s elevation advantage delivers an average of 250 inches of natural snow every season. The peak creates optimal temperatures to produce machine-made snow, especially during November and December, with more than 1,400 snow guns covering 600-plus of the resorts 1,000 acres of skiing and riding terrain.  Killington Resort, including Pico Mountain, features 88 miles of diverse terrain including 191 trails, and provides skiers and riders of all ability levels a choice. Wide-open groomed cruisers that travel for miles, narrow classic New England runs, big banging moguls, open face steeps, and 13 tree skiing areas. Killington’s nationally recognized terrain parks at Bear Mountain offer freeskiers and riders multiple features for jibbing and jumping, including The “organic” Stash park and a 430-foot long Superpipe with 18-foot walls.  If freestyle is your game, this park is defiantly worth checking out.

This mountain is well known for its miles of cruisers, and intermediate terrain. However if you’re looking to ski something a bit gnarlier then a mellow black diamond, don’t get discouraged. When the snow is good, Killington has quite a few secret stashes that offer some great tree skiing, with tons of fun jumps and bumps to play on. They also offer some steep lift lines runs which are super fun to make some deep turns in.

The “Beast of the East” also has a famous reputation for being the first to open and last to close. Nothing is better that early season pow runs on Snowshed, and endless spring time bumps down the outer limits on Bear Mountain.

There’s always good times at Killington, as they play host to many different varieties of fun filled events, as well as professional contests. From the Rags to Riches rail jam, to the end of season Sunshine Daydream festival, Killington keeps it rocking.
